Message from the TYA Treasurer
Updated: 02/13/2011 at 8:49 AM
Message from the TYA Treasurer: I don’t remember exactly how it happened. One Saturday morning in January, probably in 1997, someone asked me if I wanted to help. It was at a baseball registration, I don’t recall the man’s name that asked the question, but I do remember my response. I said sure, what do you need me to do. That was the beginning of my service to TYA. From there it went on to cutting, raking, and lining baseball fields. I coached spring, travel, and fall baseball teams (sometimes 2 teams during the same season) and took the first Towamencin team to Cooperstown in 2002. After that came 6 years of coaching at the Connie Mack level. Somewhere in between, someone asked me if I could review the TYA financial statements which I did for 5 years. Then in 2006, the previous Treasurer wanted to step down, so I volunteered for that position as well. My name is Todd Fisher. I am a CPA and live in Grist Mill. My boys are now 20 and 18 years old. I have really enjoyed contributing to the TYA program as much as I could. Now, I have a question for you. Do you want to help? I would like to pass the Treasurer position on to the next person willing to serve. Please contact me if you would like to contribute to TYA in this capacity. Our organization is only able to succeed due to the efforts of the numerous volunteers in the community. I look forward to hearing from someone in the near future. Thank you.
